PRE-INGEST TOOL Creation and Testing

It was decided within the content provider group meeting, in March 2010 at Vienna, to go on with the proposed BHL METS profile and the list of BHL Metadata fields as described in D2.1 and further elaborated in the BHLEMasterDataElementList.
In the meeting it was suggested to further refine/extend the list by metadata elements on article level. The current list of metadata fields will be used for the BHL prototype and for tests with the BHL SIP creation tool. The results of these tests will point at possible shortcomings and will affect the final design of the BHL-Europe Metadata scheme.

For the testing purposes the content providers are asked to provide a few samples of scanned books/serials together with the related metadata available in their cataloguing systems to date. AIT was providing FTP access for partners to upload test metadata with related test scans. Please provide only a few represantative samples (eg. article level, title level, multivolume, series, serial etc.). Thank you in advance!

Europeana Semantic Elements update ESE 3.4 (May 2011)

This document describes the process of ingesting BHL-Europe data into Europeana and includes a section on the impact of the new version of the Europeana Semantic Elements on future BHL-Europe Ingests to Europeana. BHL-Europeana-Ingest_110526.pdf
