- Motion to Approve BHL Bylaws Revision to include Reciprocal Partners. Approved by unanimous vote
- Motion to continue current strategic plan with a 12-24 month "refresh". Approved by unanimous vote
- Motion to add $600 from BHL contingency funds to Outreach line item to cover printing of new BHL brochures. Approved by voice vote
Review of BHL Members' Votes since 2017 Meeting
- Affiliate status for original BHL partners.
  To streamline the BHL organizational structure and recognize the historic partnership of BHL China and BHL SciELO it is moved that the BHL Members confer BHL Affiliate status on these organizations effective immediately. This status shall remain in effect until 31 December 2019. Included organizations may change status to Member on approval of the BHL EC and payment of appropriate dues at any time. They may continue as Affiliates at the conclusion of this period by payment of the appropriate Affiliate dues. Voting yes: 17, voting no: 0l, not voting: 1. Approved. 7 April 2017.
- Affiliate status for Oak Spring Garden Foundation.
  BHL Members approved the Affiliate application of the Oak Spring Garden Foundation. Voting yes: 15, voting no: 0, not voting: 3. Approved 2 September 2017.
- Member status for Yale University.
  BHL Members approved the Member application for Yale University. Voting yes: 18, voting no: 0, not voting: 1. Approved 24 October 2017.
- Vote on 2018 BHL Dues Spending Plan
  BHL Members approved the 2018 BHL Dues Spending plan. Voting yes: 19, voting no: 0, not voting: 0. Approved 12 January 2018.
- Affiliate status for Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung
  BHL Members approved the Affiliate application for Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung. Voting yes: 18, voting no: 0, not voting: 1. Approved 31 January 2018.
- Member Status for MfN Berlin.
  BHL Members approved the Member application for MfN Berlin. Voting yes: 19, voting no: 0; not voting: 0. Approved 5 March 2018.
Review of BHL Executive Committee Actions since 2017 Meeting
- Appointment of Nancy E. Gwinn to BHL Membership Committee. BHL EC approved appointing Nancy E. Gwinn to the Membership Committee for the 2017-2019 term replacing Constance Rinaldo who took on the position of BHL Chair. Approved 30 March 2017.
- Procedures for Electronic Votes. Calls for electronic votes will be sent by the Secretary. Members shall be encouraged to respond to electronic votes to either the Members List or directly to the BHL EC Secretary. The Secretary will tally the votes and report the results to the Members. The BHL Program Director will document these results for reporting at the Annual Meeting. Approved 4 May 2017.
- Affiliate Status Integration for Partners. BHL SciELO and China will be treated as "New Affiliates" and offered the same services that we offer to new Affiliates when they join BHL. This will give these institutions an opportunity to fully participate as Affiliates. Additionally, the Program Director will draft a message for the Chair to send to BHL Egypt and notify them that they will have Affiliate status under the same terms as SciELO and China until such time as the technical work for Membership is finalized and approved by the Executive Committee. Approved 4 May 2017.
- Sponsorship of the Xth International Conference on Marine Bioinvasions. BHL was asked to provide sponsorship for the conference in the form of BHL swag to be given as prized for papers and posters. In return, BHL will be listed as a sponsor and the BHL logo will be included in conference materials. Swag to be given is a tote bag, stainless steel water bottle, notebooks, a mousepad, and BHL cards to be distributed. Approved 26 May 2017.
- National Agriculture Library change of status to Member. The EC approved the request of NAL to move from Affiliate to Member status. Approved 30 June 2017.
- Letter of Collaboration for NSF Proposal. The EC approved providing a letter of collaboration to Richard L. Pyle, et al. for the proposal, "ABI Development: Developing a Common Global Infrastructure for Scientific Names". Approved 7 September 2017.
- Technical Prioritization. EC instructs the Technical Team to prioritize full text search as a first priority, followed by transcription implementation. Approved 1 December 2017.
- 2018 Technical Planning. EC instructs the Program Director to proceed with a technical development plan for CY 2018 that will provide a system architecture for BHL Version 2.0. Approved 1 December 2017.
- Change of Status for US Geological Survey. The EC approved the request of the USGS to move from Member to Affiliate status for CY 2018. Approved 17 January 2018.
- Appointment of BHL CBHL Representative. The EC approved the appointment of Doug Holland as the 1st Institutional Representative from BHL. Thanks to Susan Fraser for filling this position for the last number of years. Approved 20 February 2018.
- TDWG/SPNHC Meeting Sponsorship. Approved at the Bronze Level. Approved 10 March 2018
