Please Note: The meeting point will be at the Flett Theatre entrance on Exhibition Road, which is the official entrance used for the NHM departmental staff and visitors.
Please do not use the Cromwell Road main entrance as this is our Summer Peak period and hence will be very busy at this time and you will be asked to queue - sometimes up to 2hrs!

(the London Underground system is a convenient and easy way to get around London. I have attached a pdf copy of the tube map - if you scroll down to the bottom left corner of the map you will see that the navy blue line which is the Piccadilly Line has a direct route from Heathrow airport to both Gloucester Road & South Kensington Stations. There's really no need to get a taxi, London cabs can be quite expensive from Heathrow airport).
Travel Information
Directions from Heathrow Airport to Montana Hotel, Ambassadors Hotel
- From within Heathrow Airport make your way downstairs through the departures lounge following signs for the underground.
- Catch the Piccaddily line tube direct to Gloucester Road tube station your journey time should be no more than 45 minutes direct.
- Montana Hotel: As you exit Gloucester Road tube station turn to your left and the hotel is clearly visible a a mere 100 yards adjacent to the tube station across the main junction.
- Ambassadors Hotel: As you exit Gloucester Road tube station turn left onto Cromwell Road. Turn left down Collingham Road (the fourth road on your left). The Ambassadors Hotel is situated a short way down Collingham Road.
Alternatively, If you are travelling straight to the Natural History Museum from Heathrow airport:
- From within Heathrow Airport make your way downstairs through the departures lounge following signs for the underground.
- Catch the Piccaddily line tube direct to South Kensington tube station (one stop after Gloucester road tube station)
- Follow the Way Out signs up the escalators and through the ticket barriers and continue to follow the signs leading to the NHM which will take you through a long subway. Take the first exit on the left out of the subway and up the stairs which leads you onto Exhibition Road. Turn left and the 1st building is the Flett entrance of the museum for departmental staff and visitors. (less than 5mins from exiting the tube station).
