common tasks

start (guid generation service): bhladmin@bhl-mandible: sudo /etc/init.d/noidservice start
stop (guid generation service): bhladmin@bhl-mandible: sudo /etc/init.d/noidservice stop
status (guid generation service): bhladmin@bhl-mandible: sudo /etc/init.d/noidservice status

generate a GUID
- make a request to http://bhl-mandible.nhm.ac.uk:3000/mint

A GUID will be returned in the body of the form: 10706/a0qnk9cc
10706 is the BHL Europe Handle prefix, a0qnk9cc is the identifier which will be used as the bhle ID
