Social Media Goals

Great article that we used to build our SM goals, strategies and metrics approaches!Web_Analytics_Demystified_Altimeter-Social-Media_Analytics.pdf

  1. Primary goal is to "foster dialogue" - measured by audience engagement and conversation reach metrics, see below
    • Strategy 1: Define actionable markets to implement new SM strategies like BHL Member library market, digital library market, etc.
    • Strategy 2: Monitor, if possible, topics that drive meaningful traffic to the BHL and maximize on those topics
  2. Secondary goal is to "promote advocacy" - no hard metrics at this time but we are aware of advocates and would like to garner more such as Rod Page, @Soleden, @Labroides, @drhypercube, @fak3r, @chrisfreeland, @fabladyb, @mkudc... anecdotal observations for now
  3. Peripheral goal is to "spur innovation" - CF doing a lot of this via his personal twitter account and we will be documenting anecdotal observations as a result of his efforts
  4. Future goal is to "facilitate support" by providing help desk services via SM engagement platform tools, esp. FB and twitter
