Secretariat Update (MRK)
- CY 2018 Dues Spending Plan Discussion. Review of preliminary spending plan.
- Global Names NSF Proposal. Seeks approval to provide a letter of collaboration for the Bishop Museum, et al., for NSF grant around taxonomic names.
- University of Houston NSF Proposal. MRK spoke with Karen Snyder UPDATE: U of Houston is delayed due to Hurricane Harvey in getting more information.
- Oak Spring Garden Foundation. Grace Costantino provided OSGF with an overview of outreach activities.
- Upcoming Meetings (No change from last meeting):
  - GBIF 24. Martin will be attending (along with Connie), the GBIF 24 meeting
  - TDWG 2017. Carolyn will be attending and TDWG and managing the BHL symposium. Due to conflicts, Martin will not attend this year.
  - NDP at 3: Envisioning the next 3 years of the National Digital Platform. Martin has been invited to participate in this IMLS visioning meeting in Washington, 17 Oct 2017.
  - CETAF (Fall 2017). Neither Connie, Jane, or Gildas is able to attend the Fall meeting, but Connie will continue to try and stay in touch with them. Gildas and Jane both hope to attend in the future.
  - EOL Steering Committee Meeting (27-28 October 2017). Connie recommends that due to costs, BHL not attend in person and see if there will be a call in or other reporting option. Connie contacted Bob Corrigan and is waiting for more information.

Technical Update (MRK) [Reminder: all Tech team call notes are here]
- BHL Tech Meeting. Planning continues for the September Tech meeting.
- HTTPS. We have still not activated HTTPS on the BHL site; getting Joel to expedite this which has dragged on for too long. UPDATE: No changes to report.

- Washington University News. Jonathan Losos is leaving HU to go to WashU to open a biodiversity center in conjunction with MBG and the STL Zoo.
