1. June 7: Noha asked if we will be cleaning up the black edges on scans because this makes OCR difficult and the images are not aesthetically pleasing: Noha suggests we need a policy. Martin suggested we use the best practices guide as the place to work on this. Work group for scanning standards as a follow up.

2b. OCR processing: Curated, BHL Europe OCR, crowdsourcing improvements

Orignial OCR file stays and never changes but push new one back to IA. And OCR with text coordinates. Portal elements need to use the new files. Ely: OCR and crowdsourcing: if you run 3 OCR indexes, you might be able to make corrections more easilly by matching the indexes. Google summer of code project? Ely will write a problem statement.

3. What master files are we going to keep? Must be decided by the 3 institutions that have volunteered to keep. (Egypt, Smithsonian, NHM)

Royal museum has a tool for exhibit making which they hope to make available to other institutions. Local installations of exhibits for international projects. Patricia will send documentation.
