In regards to the rare book "review"; if it needs a "full rare book cataloging" they'll be reviewed on a case by case basis
- Scanning Center Coordinators Call notes (Keri and Bianca)
- Keri recapped the IA Scanning Center Coordinator conference call that occurred on 3/24. Both BHL staff members and IA scanning center managers participated. Among the topics covered were the new page insertion process; this does bring up the issue of "Frankenbooks"; some discussion of the foldout machine; IA also discussed their "folio machine" which is the foldout machine (BHL will continue to monitor these developments)
- Update: where we are with pulling, scanning (Keri, Grace, Erin T.)
- Grace reported that REPTILES monographs are complete and we're moving onto BIRDS monographs on 3/25; Courtney Shaw has been informed that BIRDS will be starting; ENT serials are 90% pulled and we're working with ENT curators and pulling from their offices. Erin Thomas reported that she spoke with Tom Henry (Ent USDA curator) and showed him the books we took from him on the BHL portal and he was impressed. (Ann J is asking.: Where does Mammals fit into the scheme of processing? Martin K responding: MAMMALS is part of the same plan and will be part of the current picklist with Grace/Erin going there as needed; I inadvertently left them off the list of VZ locations)
