BHL Meetings
Smithsonian Institution Libraries
Washington, DC
BHL will hold two meetings in Washington at the Smithsonian Institution Libraries in November. The two meetings are:
BHL central funds will support the travel, lodging and per diem for staff from BHL institutions to attend both of these meetings. The meetings have been scheduled at times that staff have indicated will work best for the largest number of people. The timing of the meetings is also optimized for travel, though we realize that it will be hard to accommodate easily all travel schedules.

Funding
BHL central funds will support participation at both meetings. Each BHL member institution may send one staff person to the Library Staff Meeting and one to the Institutional Council. At their own discretion, BHL members may fund themselves additional staff to attend the Library Staff meeting. In this case, BHL central funds will cover provided meals during the meeting times (including dinner).
Travel
Participants are expected to arrange for their own travel. All participants must be registered in the Smithsonian accounting system for reimbursement (details to follow)
Lodging
Smithsonian Libraries will be reserving a block of hotel rooms in a nearby hotel. Details to follow shortly. Participants are encouraged to use this block of rooms. If you choose to make other arrangement, you will be reimbursed at the XXXXXX rate.
Per Diem and Other Expenses
Per diem expenses for travel to and from the airport will also be covered.
Meeting Details: BHL Institutional Council
When
- November 4-5, 2009 (Wednesday and Thursday)
Where
- Smithsonian Institution Libraries, National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC. Meeting rooms to be determined
Who
- Each BHL member is invited to send their director or designate to the meeting. BHL funding will allow for one attendee from each institution

Meeting Details: BHL Library Staff Meeting
When
- November 2-4, 2009 (Monday - Wednesday)
The meetings will begin with lunch at Noon on Monday (11/2); there will be a full day on Tuesday (11/3); the meeting will conclude at Noon on Wednesday (11/3). It is hoped that this scheduling will enable some attendees to arrive on Monday and be able to leave on Wednesday afternoon.

- BHL funding will allow for one attendee from each institution. Institutions are encouraged to send addition staff if funded by the institution.
