Agenda
Martin, Joel, Carolyn, Susan, Mike,
- Full text search (Mike)
- Status update: Test Plan - Mike has put together usability and doing functionality testing on own, planning for load testing; Scientists, General Public, Librarians
Setting up second instance of ElasticSearch
Any other full text related work done last week. - Review any items for which input may be required from the Tech Team.
- Summary of next steps for full text for this week - correcting identified issues, finishing up to get ready for testing
- Blog migration update (Joel)
- Final stages of accessibility (images and alt tags)
- Couple display issues in FireFox
- Joel working on scheduling a special TRB next week or the last week of February. Still aiming for first week of march or by the Members' Meeting. Phil might be able to help with testing while Joel's away.
- Batch Articles (Susan)
- New process & BioStor: potential for duplication; other considerations for the Tech Team.
- Discussion of any necessary changes on our end and timeline for implementing.
Rod had not been pulling articles because we probably didn't have any he wanted; might be changing.
Article clustering - to identify duplicate articles, define relationships
Haven't found any useful clustering; adds clutter. Structural components - it interprets letters to editor as article titles, so it will group all of them together as copies.
Modify data model, set indicator no article definition from outside BHL
Single from Admin Dash or bulk from Admin Dash
In future Macaw will be an option too
Any article creation from those interface is fine, off platform (OAI-PMH, BioStor, SciELO) article additions and changes cannot come in
Stop Gap - Just leaving Rod Page a note in GitHub to avoid a certain publication. Susan happy to do it for as long as she is involved
Nicole Kearney - has a lot of articles in Australian publications, uses spreadsheets. Does she use those with new batch function or through Rod Page? Her csv files are a combo of articles already in BHL and those that are not
Australia defined hundreds of articles and decided the scans was poor, replaced with better quality scans; invalidated articles in BHL and in BioStor.
DOI - this journal is scanned and has articles and we want to assign DOIs to those. Confirm it's still on the list. Separate from Susan's recommendation for DOIs for segments. One is sending to CrossRef, other is updating in BHL.
For Macaw side, a lot of ground work for collecting metadata. On back burner for now. Once we're ready, let's make sure we have the right fields.
All - review Susan's requirements and messages and we will set the plan next week.
- Any updates on app server rebooting at weird times on Sundays instead of third Thursdays? Joel will follow up if it happens again. Might be related to Intel fixes.
- Any other updates or items for discussion (all)
