Feedback received; will work on it this week.
Recent feedback on full text search
Action Item: Carolyn and Joel will discuss priority level of other full text changes with Martin and, if needed, will dedicate a future call to reviewing those. Scheduled for Tuesday.
Windows Server Reboot Schedule (short)
http://prism2.si.edu/OCIO/ITPolicies/IT-960-TN33.pdf
Joel will review in more depth to confirm if rebooting per schedule/rules outlined in the document. 9pm Thursdays is what configured app server for; 5am might be for everyone else. Joel to investigate further.
Next steps for Transcription incorporation
Review and prioritization of action items from prior Tech Calls:
- Joel will follow up with Dima to see where we're at with the work referenced in the thread he shared with Carolyn and Mike; Joel emailed but hasn't heard back yet.
- Joel and Mike to define details of when things will be reviewed to manage potential changes from pushed updates/ App server reboots; See above document.
- Susan will review the 3 Gemini issues related to the OCR issues and respond to Rod.
- Susan contacted Rod; Rod opened a new ticket saying it was wrong. Susan reviewed this morning; there were a total of 5 tickets of OCR-text mis-match; all closed. Convinced that it's a timing problem, when corrected, when looked, when opened vs when fixed. Everything fine now and closed. Nothing further is needed.
- 60527 Mike will look into being able to export DOIs using the API. A few database procedures to be updated; shouldn't be too much work now. Closed as complete.
- 61182: Mike will look into if segment types "BookItem", "Journal" and "Unknown" are being submitted, for example, by BioStor.
- Update from 6/4: Mike has asked Rod about the Genre/Type values that BioStor can send. In theory, it could include "any valid OpenURL Genre value", but in practice things like "BookItem", "Journal", "Preprint", "Proceeding", and "Conference" do not seem to be in use.
- Update 2: Rod's response... "Currently all I use are: article - article, book - whole book, chapter - part of a book, letter - used for "articles" that are individual letters in a scanned volume of correspondence"
- Decision: "Unknown" potentially still of use; Keep "Unknown". Remove "BookItem", "Journal". Note: Seem to make sense at item level not segment. Complete
- 60710: Susan will talk to Diane Rielinger about using page prefix to add MM-DD info. Susan will see if she can stay on Collections Call with Diane afterwards; 3pm today.
- 61157: Mike will look into date issues in the MODS exports and make sure no changes would impact DPLA harvests. All read through and discuss on next call. Carolyn to have Bianca review at this point. Couple of potential MODS elements for dates; OCLC expects in DateCreated, we put in DateIssued. Changing it would impact DPLA (and anyone else who might be harvesting).
- 58613 and 61034: Carolyn will clarify with Bianca what is needed for Supplement
- For June 25 or later: Susan will consult with Cataloging Group on status of author name work. (They have a call in about two weeks from now; Tech Team will revisit after that call)
New Gemini Issue for discussion (time permitting)
- 58083: For moving wall titles, include Link outs to more current issues for a title that we do not provide access to in BHL.
Discussed at Members' Meeting. For e-content, because of staffing issues, BHL may be behind by a year or two for example for uploading content that we have permission to upload. Makes it less problematic when these delays occur. Susan will try to find the other ticket to link them. Add to title admin site; should it show up in APIs?- Where does this fit into the schedule?
- Add a field, pick a label, determine if it needs to be added to API?
Action Items:
- Joel and Mike to further review http://prism2.si.edu/OCIO/ITPolicies/IT-960-TN33.pdf and monitor if reboots follow schedule/protocols outlined therein.
- All review comments added to Transcription Requirements and respond as needed.
- Susan will talk to Diane Rielinger about using page prefix to add MM-DD info (aiming for 3pm on 6/11)
- Carolyn to loop Bianca back into the Gemini ticket on date issues with MODS exports.
- Carolyn to follow up with Bianca on Supplement.
- Carolyn to update Gemini tickets to indicate these will be on hold for the time being.
- 60989 and 60752: Carolyn will clarify with Bianca what is needed for resequencing. Fairly complicated to implement.
- 60922 : Mike will create an indicator at the item level in the admin dash to prevent ingest of article metadata from external sources such as BioStor. Involves database changes, changes to Admin site, and BioStory processes.
