SSL Configuration for BHL – Where does this stand?
- No news. Joel will follow-up with Help Desk
Database performance – FYI, recently there have been some brief periods of slow responsiveness from the database, picked up by site monitoring tools. This has (so far) only happened outside of regular U.S. business hours, and may be related to a user harvesting name bibliographies via our APIs. Nothing actionable right now, but worth keeping an eye on. Joel and I have discussed setting up some additional monitoring tools at SI.
At MOBOT, also used to moniotr when disk space got low; might be good to monitor for that, too if possible. Might want to monitor transaction logs for database and other things, too.
Any other updates from the group?

Creating segments from user-supplied PDF metadata – What is the current status of this? Are there still conversations happening? Came up in EABL- for when Martin and Susan are available to finalize
OAI ResourceSync – This is a new standard from the same folks that created OAI-PMH… in fact ResourceSync is a replacement for PMH (Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). I emailed the tech group on May 12 to see if anyone had heard about ResourceSync, or if there have been any rumblings within BHL about implementing it. I did not receive a response.
