On Call: Martin, Susan, Nancy, Connie and WIliam
- Internet Archive posts 2m+ images to Flickr (some background from Martin) being done by a research fellow at Georgetown. We would like to see credit given to contributing library. William suggest we piggyback on this and explore possible interaction with Art of Life. This research fellow created an algorithm that searched OCR files and he used the entire page to extract the images which helped multiply the images once they were captured.
- Lyon Declaration - launched out of IFLA as a result of UN initiative for sustainable development. Should BHL sign (Nancy). Group agreed BHL should be signatory. Smithsonian will likely not be able to join on their own since it constitutes a political action statement.
- MOU Update: comments/thoughts on Eric's (excellent) suggestions. All members to review the MOU and suggested changes and return comments by September 11
Membership committee recommends accepting NAL as affiliate member. Still awaiting affiliate membership applications from Africa and Australia. Smithsonian archives may also be interested.
