Global Names
Mike looking at deduplication items in production – We need to make decisions on types of cluster relationships we want (e.g. sameAs, containedin, relatedTo). Many results got clustered that arent’ duplicates – e.g. short titles like “Notes and News” cluster together but are in fact from different volumes. Mike says we could use DOIs to split them. On the other hand some articles whose pages were not consecutive within a volume (e.g. 1-3 5-7) were seen as different articles and given different DOIs by JSTOR so the DOIs are always reliable for distinguishing entities.

William suggested maybe we should do a proposal for TDWG about deduplication challenges. RefBank may add functionality for clustering.
