Agenda
  1. BHL Governance updates
Nancy Gwinn was elected as vice-chair of the Executive Committee; Connie Rinaldo will continue as re-elected secretary. From the SIL EC Minutes (9/26/11): NEG reported that the BHL governance structure is now in place. There are now two levels of membership, the Institutional Council (those institutions that sign an agreement to participate in BHL) and the Steering Committee (those institutions that put $10,000/year; these are: SIL, MOBOT, NHM, Kew, MBL/WHOI, CalAcademy, HU/MCZ) that will manage the BHL. An Executive Committee will be elected from those on the Steering Committee. For communication purposes, the Executive Committee will hold weekly calls (with Steering Committee members invited to participate); monthly Steering Committee calls; and quarterly Institutional Council (all of the above institutions plus: NYBG, ANSP, Field, AMNH, Cornell) calls.

In the election for the new officers, NEG was elected as vice-chair of the Executive Committee and Connie Rinaldo (Harvard, Museum of Comparative Zoology) was elected as Secretary. The Executive Committee will be composed of Cathy Norton (Chair, MBL/WHOI), NEG (Vice-chair, SIL), Connie Rinaldo (Secretary, Harvard, MCZ). Non-voting ex officio members are Tom Garnett, MRK, Chris Freeland (Missouri Botanical Garden).
