- SCP will set up another BHL portal editing call (Will happen after QA summit)

Welcome to the newest members of the BHL; the BHL Institutional Council approved membership of two new members in May 2009. More details to follow about how they will be integrated into the BHL world-flow.- Academy of Natural Science (Philadelphia)

- Update on Meet and Greets/Report on Botany Meet 'n' Greet (KT, ET, BL, GD)
About 20 Botany and NH staff joined Erin Thomas, Keri Thompson, Martin Kalfatovic and Robin Everly for an overview of the history of BHL and how to use the portal. It was a positive and interested crowd. - Scheduling of Meet and Greet for MSC VZ/IZ staff (GT, et al)
GT has been in touch with Courtney re: VZ, Courtney will find out if there are any staff interested in more orientation to BHL. GT will try and schedule a session at MSC, possibly in July. - Update on planning for the NYBG Quality Assurance Summit (GD, ET)
There will be a QA summit in NYC at the NYBG on June 18-19; there will be participants from all the users of IA scanning facilities (except for NHM). Attending from SIL will be Erin Thomas and Grace Duke. Bianca Lipscomb will also attend. See the QA wiki page for more information.It is suggested that Robert Miller call in. - Report on the Council of Botanical and Horticulture Libraries meeting (St. Louis, May 12, 2009)
There was a very good turnout (about 40 people) for the pre-conference workshop on BHL and Tropicos. Many suggested that there be a regular BHL update session scheduled for CBHL. Leslie Overstreet and Robin Everly from SIL attended. Had some very good side discussions with Leora Siegel (Chicago Botanic Garden) and Harvey Brenneise (Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden). My presentation is on slideshare. - Report on BHL orientation for Dagmar (Gil, Ann, Suzanne, Keri)
Dagmar, a frequent visitor to SIL, received an orientation from SIL staff on BHL. Dagmar also gave Keri a bibliography of plant sucking plants insects which Keri did a test load into BHL Cite. - New BHL blog
Take a look at the new design on the BHL blog. A new feature that will include the BHL "Book of the Week" from various scanning libraries will appear soon.Thanks to Erin and Grace for there work on this! - Status of book carts (KT, ET, GD)
Keri will remember to order book carts! - Where are we in pulling and putting back? (GD, ET)
Pulling in Mammals, finishing up Ent serials; still a few items coming back from Mollusks. There may be some items coming back from different libraries for a while yet. Julia is working on the Cuvier Poisson title. Only 12 items from Cullman sent in July. We'll prioritize the Cuvier when the metadata is completed. - Report on BHL Staff call (BL)
There was some concern about the BHL/OCLC planned ISBN deal; SCP will follow up with more information to the group; BHL portal editing was discussed; lots of interest in the new members. - Question of priorities for TSP: foldouts? RB? 'requests' ?
- Permissions
Erin Rushing reported that permissions handling have been passed to Bianca. - Meeting at the Library of Congress, Science Division
Martin and Bianca met with LC Science Division staff (Ron Bluestone and Connie Carter); LC will contribute about 500 titles sometime in July. LC will scan only single volume monographs at this time. - Z39.50 server down
Bess reported that the problems with the Zserver are solved; we'll need to be alert in the future! Thanks to Bess for making lots of calls and emails. - Budget
Still planning to get the next MacArthur funding in August; SIL will also request additional Seidell
