Art of Life
Trish working on paper for IFLA with Connie and Nancy (due May 31st) and NEH Interim report due May 31st

Purposeful Gaming
Need to work out OCR version issues. What are text management platforms to look into? Drupal can do some of this, mediawiki. Send out question to TAG or code4lib

Questions about how will we give the content to the game companies e.g. images of words, coordinate info etc. William has begun working on. IMPACT has a tool TR5 that can be used to markup an OCR page

Mining Biodiversity
William Received Document of timeline and tasks partners will give to JISC. Community Manager will be involved 25% time throughout project. Set up wiki for lists, ontologies for tagging content (entities and relationships). 2 Canada groups – 1) auto improvement of OCR (Google ngram); 2) social media group finished analysis of BHL social media and will present results to group

Use case discussion this Friday – entity extraction will be a service like name finding tool. Would help to look at tools they have created already and other examples on the Web to envision how BHL and users would use it.


BHL

• Gemini upgrade – Bianca wants to make sure she’s thought of everything. Mike Needs to make feedback form inactive on Friday 13th and reinstate feedback form on 16th. We’ll have a banner saying the form is disabled temporarily.
• Author display – pushed changes on authors out. Notes is still to be done but needs a decision by group William will summarize final decisions on authors and indicate where Notes discussion is on the wiki
• RJB – now their OAI feed has removed the content that links to external repositories
• Contributor browse – why did we get rid of this on UI? Staff decided we could use the adm interface to create these but many times people want these via the BHL interface to show off their collections in BHL. Many of the collections are contributor based . We will not worry about for now.
