Discussion to encourage AMNH to provide dues or at least a Letter of Intent from the Provost in order for them to fully participate in the Annual IC meeting. Nancy will send letter.
Planning for the IC meeting is in full swing. Diane is confirming room availability and costs and Martin will make this information available as soon as possible.
The MacArthur/EOL funding audit is complete and there is only about 8K available. Funding to support travel to the IC meeting is not available. This will support room rental, catering and group dinner.
The meeting agenda is on the wiki. Martin suggests formatting the meeting with a theme for each day. Day 1 updates and reports from committees - Collections, Program management, Social media, Tech committee, Global updates and Exec committee rhport. Day 2 would be Business meeting- discussion of Membership document, Vision/Mission/Goals, Financial report and discussion of communication process.
martin may not be able to attend the BHL Africa meeting. He and Nancy prepared to give a presentation- Meeting set for April 15-18 with 15 and 16 being the key dates. Connie may be able to attend in place of Martin.
JRS Foundation will help with $5000.
Nancy and Martin prepared slides for Smithsonian Board presentation to inform the board about the whole BHL enterprise and attempt to explain the 10 year outlook. Presentation will be shared with IC.
Group needs clarification on Flickr license with CCO license applied. Since in MOU we don't need a vote.
William gave tech report and announced new UI will go live early Monday (or late Sunday). Includes article search in table of contents. Lots of help through beta site testers.
Mike and William working to determine how to make connections with Global Names Architecture project. There will be a Codesprint / Hack-a-ton at the Bishop Museum in Hawaii on the last week of April.
Have been working on the BHL Africa launch with Anne-Lise and will meet in early April with Lawrence Monda from Museums of Kenya who's coming to STL for another meeting.
MBL cluster is up and working fine, so we will work with MBL to extract images from there for the Art of Life project; Martin approved the transmission of the funds to MBL approved by the EC.
Wiliam is trying to get in touch with the Egyptians for the Global BHL Meeting in Morocco. Attendees include 1 confirmed from Brazil, 3 from China, not sure about Europe.
The 2nd annual Open Up! meeting to talk about moving content from organizations and repositories into Europeana. It will include a workshop to talk about the future of BHL-Europe and the sharing of content through the Internet Archive.
William will attend the pro-iBiosphere workshop to define ways to describe their Open Biodiversity Knowledge Management System which will integrate and mark up literature collections.
The last minute integration of EOL links in UI site produced very good comments from Jesse Ausubel and Erick Mata.

Susan - staff member has entered TL-2 numbers into our online catalog. Completed volume 1. Susan nominated BHL for CBHL long award. Announcement about the award is pending - but is not awarded every year.
Nancy made presentation to Smithsonian Board to support BHL -- in addition she has 1 million in her campaign.
