BHL Executive Committee Conference Call DRAFT minutes 15 February

Topics:

A. Egypt--where do we go from here? Noha is back in the office as of today. Not fulltime but returning to normal. We should continue our relationship as planned. BHLEurope is continuing to work with them. EOL is actively working with BA.
B. BHL hosting at MCZ--Jim Hanken is interested in investigating an opportunity to duplicate BHL at Harvard. Holding onto the content and app is one thing but is it enough to be supportive of BHL at the level of the Steering Committee? Tom noted that we have rough figures to mirror the entire site. Is it a mirror site or a failover site? But would this be a substantive contribution to the BHL? Cathy noted that BHL needs cash support so this kind of support is not enough. A failover site is necessary so the exercise of costing out the failover site. ACTION: Chris will provide technology landscape of BHL by IC meeting for failover site.
C. BHL IC planning: Tuesday morning through Wed. afternoon. Formal group dinner Tuesday evening. An informal group dinner on Monday since some may not get in on time. ACTION: Tom will send out some "future" topics for all IC to think about and be ready to discuss.
E. Development Roadmap. - Chris Freeland Need to rank for priorities. ACTION: Chris will rank the development roadmap priorities 1-3 (1 most important, 3 least) and then we will review. F. Graham noted that we need to put together the work team for Life and Lit. NHM has 2 people from BHL Europe to add to the LIfe and Lit group.
G. Boris Jacob has signed a contract with Teuveun and will continue to work on BHLEurope. GRIB will go live on March 1. User (general users) launch at end of April. Boris will be working for BHL Europe directly.
H. Brochure layout will be ready by the IC meeting. Is there a list of awards on the wiki? On the accomplishments page: by year.
I. Life and Lit: Pat LaFollette provided feedback re Life and Lit, user needs, reviewing the website etc. Need to flesh out the track information enough to share them. Cathy noted that we should have questions on registration. Should we make the conference "application only"? Then: ACTION: blog post next week for comment on Life and lit. ACTION: Chris will provide contacts to Connie for PLOS and BMC.
