Tech meeting 2/23/15

Harvest criteria – discussing with others if we wanted to make changes what would we do? How often is 4th criteria used – use of the Leader? Skeptical that the criteria is effective based on NAL records. People are creating catalog records for digitization rather using existing records. Leader isn’t necessarily unique. Talk of getting rid of the 4th criteria altogether – is this a problem? Probably not other than with OCLC numbers but that’s rare. First criteria – why couldn’t we not drop contributor aspect of that? Its so that contributors could have their institution acknowleged. Bianca will bring up with folks before we decide if we want to change.

Folks are beta testing. Still not sure how feedback gets incorporated. Seems like a tight deadline to go live March 4th.
Zooniverse needs a photo and brief bio this week for each of us.

Ngram algorithm – wanted to check on false positives

Annotations –tRish and William need to be done with Batch 1 & 2 by end of week
Social media – testing badges from altmetrics and make it visible in beta for feedback. Want to test at ALA in June before it goes live.
IMLS interim report due Jan 31st– William got financial from Dianne and is working on narrative. William has a draft and will send this week.
