December 5, 2007 BHL Executive Committee Notes
BHL Executive Minutes December 5, 2007
Tom--Next BHL Director's Meeting will be in Cambridge in March, preferably late March (March 25, 26). Connie will check on room availability. Tom or Chris will be attending a meeting in New Orleans March 7-10, ATOL, Assembling the Tree of Life. Tech meeting location is still up in the air. Tom had a good discussion with Linda Fruh. Tom is pursuing options for DataNet proposal. Moore proposal regarding markup language is delayed. We have a lot to do in the next year so a few delays are helpful. Tom will be participating in a call regarding governance for Open Content Analysis.
Cathy-IA is slowing down--books aren't getting on the IA Site quickly. It is difficult to get stats from the meta manager in a timely fashion . Cathy reminded us about the tool (Ruby on the Rails, Mike Stein) BPL is using to get material into the server. MBL is looking at it. The deduping is the next frontier. All Challenger volumes except 3 will be done at BPL.
Connie-taking Jim Hanken and library staff on a tour of the Boston facility on Dec 5. Our first cartload is at BPL!
Next call will be December 18, 2007 at Noon.
