Terms currently under review by BHL Collections Committee!
Note:** List of terms derived from LCSH. Terms are listed alongside "parent terms" in order to differentiate terms from their general meaning such as in the case with the term "Anatomy" -- here "Zoo/Bot" is used to specify that content relevant to the subject Anatomy must fall within the domain of either Zoology or Botany and is not Anatomy in general.

- - Jan 15, 2010 As a paleontologist I would like to ask where all the paleontological collection come in, is it also "core"? I know a number of colleagues using BHL already, but they want more paleontological literature of course. Although I'm aware that sometimes the differentiation of paleontology from geology is difficult, there are a number of taxonomic monographs and serials that would fit nicely into BHL - and it would be complementary to all works on evolution and extinction.
- - Jan 15, 2010 Paleontology is part of the supporting literature tier (wiki page soon to be created). I believe this is in large part b/c the original funding for scanning was expressly restricted against scanning paleontological literature. Either through additional funding sources or permissions agreements or by chance paleontological literature has become a part of BHL. FYI, the Library of Congress has arranged to scan some paleontological works as part of their contribution to BHL but I will need to check in on the status of this.
