BHL Book of the Week
BHL Book of the Week
Concept
Highlight intersting BHL books; they may be interesting from a taxonomic point of view, a historical reason, beautiful illustrations, important to your library collection, etc.
The goal is to have one book per week highlighted; the BHL blog allows us to queue up posts; we'd like to see books from all BHL members, so start browsing the portal now for books from your collection that you would like to highlight.
How to Submit a book
Contact Grace Duke or Erin Thomas (info below)
What to Submit
- A short write up of why this is an interesting book
- A link to the bibliographic record in BHL
- If the book features a particular species, and that species has a page in EOL, the link to the species in EOL
- A selected illustration (or title page); just send the BHL PAGE link and we can grab the actual image
- Any other information (e.g. if it is related to an important date, mention this so the post can be published the week of the event)
What to expect
The blog team will review your post and make sure all the link information is correct; depending on what you submit, there will be varying degrees of editing to make the texts standard. The more complete your information, the less editing it will require. As we get more posts in the queue, the blog team will let you know when you're post is scheduled to go live.
