BHL Executive conference call August 9, 2011
On Call: Tom Garnett, Cathy Norton, Chris Freeland, Connie Rinaldo, Martin Kalfatovic

• Topics:1. Results of BHL IC: Nancy Gwinn has committed ongoing Smithsonian resources to BHL; BHL brochure completed--need to let Tom know how many are needed; 7 libraries committed to dues for executive group or nearly so. Several libraries will not be at exec level (Field, ANSP, Cornell, Harvard botany). NYBG and AMNH not sure yet. We should move forward with elections even though some are still on the fence. Succession plan has been accepted.

• 2. Next steps on the election: Graham and Cathy will be nominating committee. Those who are committed would vote.
• 3. Report on OZ meetings with BHL-Australia: Chris sent out his notes. plan is to upload content to IA--not building a local storage cluster. Procedures documented on public wiki.

• Status updates: Chris noted some concerns about Citebank/article boundary. We have hit the limits of Drupal. Not what we need. The early implementation of Citebank will not scale. Australia wants to do article repository as well so we should revisit and maybe should work with Australia on this. Been working on this since 2008 but it is time to make a fresh start. It is a larger and more complicated problem to implement.

Martin sent a message to Bob Corrigan about BHL/EOL. People should test and fill out evaluation. Need to query Inst. Council about commitment for attendance at Life and Literature. ACTION: Tom and Bianca will send an email invitation to library staff for Life and Literature conference. ACTION: Tom will send an email request to Directors for tentative commitment about L&L attendance.
