BHL Executive Committee Conference Call August 10, 2010

Tom sent around Nancy's notes on new membership. Until we get further along with planning Nancy and Tom noted that it is risky to expand membership. Cathy agrees with Nancy's comments. Nancy and Tom have been working with Cristian Sampar seeking future funding. Funding will disappear for Chris's and Tom's salaries as of 2012. If we add new members now, members who have not been involved will have a say in new governance. Is this a good idea?

When we started the IC conference calls they were simply for discussion--they have evolved to decision making. Doug and Nancy won't be on the phone call on Thursday. Concern has been expressed about adding new members. What should be the topic be on the IC call? We should hear everyone's views. If there is not a quorum, then we should put off a vote. It will be a discussion. ACTION Will discuss on Thursday.
