BHL Executive Committee Minutes April 7, 2009

Tom is moving ahead with reallocating funds to keep scanning going in NY and London. SIL has some unspent money that can be reallocated temporarily and then returned when MacArthur Sloane money comes in. We need to spend every cent! MBL and MCZ need to send bills for recent meetings. Connie will check with Catherine about the IC meeting bills.

Bianca will visit NYBG next week to do a collection profile. She is scheduling AMNH, Field, MCZ/HUH to develop collection strengths and this will be important for BHL-Europe.

Graham confirmed the dates of BHLEurope meeting--May 10 is the kick-off. Graham will attend May 10-13. Adrian Smales, Nancy Chillingworth and Bernard Scaife will be there all week. E-biosphere conference will have a stand with a significant BHL presence. Tom should be ready to provide promotional materials. Disco balls? There may be some attendees who would be interested in a tour of the NHM scribe set up. Connie, Tom and Chris are going to e-biosphere.

Institutional Council call on Thursday. Institutional agenda: strategic plan; the next call will deal with the membership issues.
