BHL Tech meeting 4/6/15

BHL general
Last week’s 2 day Meeting with Joel regarding moving BHL storage over to SIL was productive. Next step for Joel to talk with IT at Smithsonian. Biggest concern is disk space needs – cost of getting the storage/bandwidth. Timeline late Sept with drop dead by Dec 2015.
Title notes – Mike has reloaded data
Deduplication criteria – we discovered through some NAL records that BHL criteria for deduping is based on 4 factors one of which is matching on MARC leaders. Group looked at that factor and decided to get rid of MARC leader criteria. Will remove contributing library as a factor. Mike will proceed with implementation.
Advanced search fields – suggestions for general search box do same rules apply to advanced search fields? Mike says yes it should be the same. Can Wildcard characters be used? Mike doesn’t think these work
William to Museums and Web April 7-11th and workshop in Brazil so out for next 2 weeks

Purposeful Gaming
Desmond meeting – said he would incorporate polygons last Friday. Trish checked today and no polygons visible yet. Mike and Trish sent Desmond samples of seed catalogs. We probably need to be checking in with him every few days at this point since the original deadline was April 4th.
Tiltfactor – Max asked about last set of data if it was in final format. Mike reminded them we hadn’t decided on the exchange formats and we need to decide if we will exchange manual vs automated. Mike needs a decision soon to know what process he will need to build if any.
F2F meeting Set date for May12th. Need to get confirmation to get head counts and reserve a room. Trish sent out hotel info
FromThePage problems – did we resolve? Joe said when books are imported from IA the images aren’t showing up correctly. Ben was looking into. Mike sent current logs on server. Meeting setup for April 9th to discuss next steps.
