RUNNING SHEET
I wanted to go over the process we are going to use for the presentation of the Outstanding Collaboration Awards at the ALCTS Awards Ceremony. The process hasn't changed. As a reminder, the ceremony takes place on Sunday, June 27, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and is in the Renaissance Washington Hotel, Grand Ballroom South/Central. I send this out each year just to get you thinking about what will happen. The ceremony never quite runs accordingly but we stay nimble and adapt.
The details. Please arrive at the ballroom 20 minutes ahead of time. We like to seat you all together if possible since it's easier to manage. We will have the citations and checks ready to go. Mary Jo Venetis, chair of the jury, will have a script she will read and a copy of the citation, which she will read. Mary Case will handle the citations. Photographs will be taken during the ceremony. We take an "official" photo after the citation is presented with everyone. Practice your smile.
Since there are two recipients, we'll do both of you together. The process. Mary Case, ALCTS President, will introduce Mary Jo. She will go to the podium. Mary Jo has in her script to introduce Mary prior to reading the libraries' names. Mary Jo will then read the names and those of you who will accept on behalf of the libraries and you will join Mary. Each citation is read (Mary Jo), citations are given (Mary), photo taken, applause (Mary Jo leads). Everyone sits down. Mary thanks Mary Jo. A note about the photographs: we'll do several with both recipients and then do several of each one, so you can have one of just your award.
We are not in a hurry. Take your time. I'll be there to help as will Julie and Christine of the staff.
