Agenda
Testing Adobe Connect: We met through Adobe Connect today. It gave those who joined an opportunity to see it in action.

Thank you iDigBio!
Alicia will be leaving the program on Nov 10 to head to a new job. Congratulations! She will give a presentation to the Collections Committee via Vidyo (?) on October 30. She will also present to the Chicago Botanic library staff before she leaves. Connie needs to get the skills survey to her for follow up. She is working on her final report.

Resident Webinars: All scheduled webinars should be sent to Carolyn so she can coordinate with Grace for outreach. Carolyn suggested that each resident should have another person (mentor or resident) handle chat questions during the webinar. It was also suggested that the basic information about Audio be provided in the outreach materials and also on a welcome slide at the beginning of the webinar. We have 30 (?) minutes before and after the presentation built in to get ready. Doug suggested that we let viewers know they have 15 minutes ahead so they can be sure they are set up properly.

Katie is also heading to a job, but not until the residency is complete. Currently she is reviewing tools she saw at TDWG to make sure what she recommends is aligned with user groups (like GBIF). She is doing some proof of concept tests with text mining tools and wikidata and hoping to provide some insight into reconciling authors/creator ids and VIAF.

Final report questions:
links in document? CR: maybe pull out and place in an appendix just in case...still up for discussion
Will resident reports be combined into one report? CR: mentors will be collaborating on one report, can take some pieces from resident reports...we have the option to turn everything in to IMLS
Does every resident report need to explain NDSR? CR: no, some context for the project will be necessary, but no need to explain the whole grant
Where will the reports live after residency? CR: reports can end up on project page of BHL, or on private wiki..
