- Attended NEDCC Digital Directions workshop in Seattle last week and is writing a blog post about it
- Evaluating KUMU, a data visualization tool discussed at the workshop
- Working on presentation for St. Louis Tech meeting
Alicia:
- Graphed names for St. Louis Tech meeting
- Working with geo-parsing tools
- Working on outline for presentation for St. Louis Tech meeting
Pam:
- Smithsonian IRB approved next two surveys and getting ready to go live next week
- Going through responses from individual surveys, which is intensive
- Working on outline for presentation for St. Louis Tech meeting
Ari:
- Reviewed outline with Doug and Trish for presentation for St. Louis Tech meeting
- Reviewing crowd sourcing interviews and putting data into context
- Looking at crowd sourcing qualitative and quantitative data, Flickr as a contributor
Mentor updates:
Richard:
- Digitized peer-review journal for BHL
- Overview of project may be written for member magazine The Naturalist
Leora:
- Great articles on Ari and Alicia spreading word on BHL to the botanic garden communities
- With the assistance of a summer intern, 8-10 historic journals were imaged for BHL collections. We are now in process of cropping and assigning metadata.
Carolyn:
- Analyzing Gemini wish list items and looking for patterns that correlate with survey data and/or reoccurring categories
- Gathering more info for Tech meeting
Trish:
- Met with Ari and Doug and reviewed outline for presentation and checked in on Coder Girl course
- Looking at best use of remaining travel funds for Ari
Tech meeting prep:
- Each Resident has one hour to present her project. The hour will be a 30- 40 minute presentation and 20 minutes of discussion
- The last slide of each presentation should be a summary of recommendations or priorities for BHL
