2017.02.14 NDSR Minutes

Agenda/Minutes Feb 14, 2017

Happy Valentine's Day

1. Resident blog:
https://ndsrbhl.wordpress.com/ We should copy the residents' blog to any of our blogs. And tweet. And Facebook. etc. Should we review before releasing? Always a good idea. Connie will talk with Katie.
Connie also asked about adding the blog to the NDSR communal site
https://ndsr-program.org/ (Late afternoon update: Connie now has administrative access to this site but can't quite figure out how to use it. Will ask Katie tomorrow).
2. Archive for NDSR products/Website: We all agree that BHL is the best place to keep everything. Connie plans to add any "products" (like the blank skills survey) to the BHL Current projects page for NDSR:

3. BHL Boot Camp review
Evaluations from BHL Bootcamp
There was general agreement that the Boot Camp was very useful and a great way to get everyone together. More hands on opportunities would have been nice but also would have added much time. The Networking Event was also favorably reviewed. It was great to meet other residents and also the LC, Smithsonian, CLIR and IMLS reps. Mentors and residents also discussed deadlines and products (more from Leora later).
4. Hashtag! #BHLNDSR
5. Tech face-face in September for tech group plus residents plus mentors is in the planning stages. In St. Louis. It will be an opportunity to review drafts of the work so far. Another opportunity for all all to get together.
6. Code4Lib; DPLA fest/NDSR Symposium.
Several residents plus mentor Richard are fully funded for the NDSR symposium. Richard may not be able to attend. Marissa will work for a day in Chicago in between DPLA and NDSR. Katie and Marissa will attend workshops at Code4Lib and Richard extended an offer for Katie to visit/work at NHMLA.
